“Keep praying, it will come true. It may not be in the exact package you wanted but it’ll be what God thinks is best for you.”
Frustration, pain, sadness, hurt, grief, regret… Yeah. Those things are all guaranteed in this world. No one ever said it would be easy to “find yourself.” No one ever said that the answer to your problems would always be right in front of you. And no one ever said that before you become the person you aspire to be, you must endure a lot of peaks and a heck of a lot more valleys. BUT, it is necessary to endure these times. It is necessary to go through times of regret or remorse. It is important to go through times of confusion and grief. And more importantly, it is important to remember that through all of these times, the Lord is with us. Guiding us. Protecting us. And most of all, comforting us. At times, it may not seem like He is on your side, but remember, written all over in Scripture is a promise. A promise that everything will be okay. A promise that everything will work out. A promise that you will reach your potential in due time. Let’s face it, we’ve all been there. We have all felt like we have “peaked” or we are never going to be “good enough”. We have all asked ourselves “why me” or “what good is going to come out of this?” Trust me, I have been there A LOT. And sometimes, I still am in that position. However, once I started praying, and laying out all of my confusing, troublesome thoughts to the Lord, and believing that there was a purpose to this madness, I began to feel… Happy. Through all of my peaks and all of my valleys I suddenly always felt joy. I began to feel so worthy and powerful because I realized that there is purpose in every season. And this was the game changer for my mental health and for my outlook on life. Here are 10 of my favorite Bible verses that I cling to when I am anxious, confused, lost, or just need a little reassurance that God really does have me back. Enjoy. 🙂
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
How much more comforting can it get? The Lord states that He is with us wherever we go. It doesn’t matter how bad we mess up, how lost we are, or how bad we think it is, because He is there. Waiting for us to open up, and ready to listen. Take courage. He is always with you.
“For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is His unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone.” – Lamentations 3:31-33
This verse is perfect for times of confusion. Yes, there are so many bad things in this world, but, there are also so many things to be happy about. It is hard to understand a lot that we go through, but the Lord states that “no one is cast off forever.” You are never too far from the Lord. He is there waiting.
“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5
This verse says it all. Weep no longer than a night, for joy will soon come! I try to always remind myself that if it won’t matter in 5 years, don’t spend more than 5 minutes thinking/grieving/being sad about it. Sadness and anger will occur, but it isn’t forever. Keep your eyes forward.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4
Amen. Those who open up and tell the Lord their struggles will see new hope and comfort. Pray to Him. Tell Him your thoughts, your questions, and your hopes. He is listening, and He will make sense of it. More times than not, you will immediately feel better after praying, even when there is not a solution yet. Pray, and let God do the work.
“We know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28
We are all called by God to do great things. And if you do not know what that “great thing” is yet, don’t be discouraged. Keep seeking your purpose with passion and desire, He will make good come out of it.
“I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
In the Lord, we have happiness. We have peace, we have hope, and we have a future. Yes, there will be struggles, but what good thing comes without a little battle?
“…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31
Nothing can phase you with the Lord on your side. Be strong within the Lord, and you will never grow tired, no matter what peak or valley you are in.
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7
He cares for you and He loves you. The Lord hates to see you so upset when all He can see is the beautiful life you are unfolding within. He will make everything right in His time, therefore, trust Him, cast your anxiety on Him, and watch your life unfold according to His plan.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
We are all weak. We all have weaknesses of some sort. However, the Bible states that power is made perfect in weakness. You do not have to be the best, the brightest, the most talented, or the most holy to have the Lord’s love. You just have to acquire the faith that He can bring you new life. Believe that you are enough, and watch your life change radically.
“He has made everything beautiful in it’s time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
This, to me, is the most comforting, most refreshing, and encouraging verse in all of Scripture. To understand and know that life is in God’s control, and that He will make everything beautiful in HIS timing is very soothing. This means that there is a reason for every season, but it will ultimately make sense. Although we can never picture how our life will turn out, it does have a rhyme and a reason for every event.
I hope you find these as beautiful as I do. I think it is truly amazing that we have a God so loving and so merciful that everyday we get a do-over. Everyday we get shown a little more of the “big picture.” And everyday is a new reminder that we can do the impossible, with Him at our side. Stay positive. Stay hopeful. Stay courageous. And stay you. God thinks that you are perfect, and would never want you any other way. Remember, you are just where you need to be right now.
With all that I am,
